House rabbit for sale in Reading, Hampshire for sale

House rabbit for sale

Hello! Roobly (Ru) was born on April 1st 2014 and is a french lop eared rabbit. Ru is castrated and fully litter trained and I currently have him as a house rabbit, which is what he has been raised as since he was a baby. Ideally I would like him to continue to be a house rabbit, however, it may be possible for him to eventually live outside if his new owner slowly acclimatizes him to it. He has not had any vaccinations, so this is also something that would need to be updated before he ventures outside! He is incredibly friendly, he loves being stroked, and will push his face into your hand for attention. Although I must admit this is on his terms, if he is feeling lazy then not even a shake of the treat box will encourage him over! He spends most of his time sprawled out on his belly, which is a sign hes relaxed, which you can see in the photos. He loves to come out, and often frisks around when there is the room, but mostly he likes to find new places to lie down! If he ever nibbles something he shouldn't, which occasionally he might do, he responds to a telling off and will often shake his head in annoyance at being caught out. I use 'RU NO', which always works. He is very large, being a french lop, and so isn't easy to pick up. It also seems to make him feel insecure and he will often kick out or nip if you try. I let him roam around in the front room when i am home by raising his enclosure and he goes in and out as he pleases. He is litter trained and will always go back to his cage to use the toilet, though it will take him a few days to get used to a territory. He will soon get comfortable and begin to use his litter tray once he is settled, so patience is needed! The only health issue Ru has is weepy eyes, which hes had since he was a baby. I keep the build up wiped away with an antibacterial solution called Vetericyn and a cotton pad, which I do every other day. He is currently eating russel rabbit muesli mix, vegetables and hay. I do not put straw in with him as he seems to get mites very easily, straw is the main culprit for that! He is very greedy and will eat what you put down, which is amusing and a lovely way to interact with him as he will eat from your hand. I have a feed cup for him to ensure he isn't over fed for his size, which I will pass on to the new owner. I also have an indoor cage which he uses as a litter tray, hay to eat, sawdust for bedding, a water bottle, bowls for his vegetables/food, toys, a brush and several bags of rabbit food. Any fresh vegetables I have at the time I will also provide. At the moment I have constructed a wooden slatted frame to enclose him in whilst I am at work, which encases his litter tray. It is very basic, around 4ft long and 2ft high, and is joined together with cable ties. However, it is sturdy and works well at keeping him inside and is large enough for him to have room to sprawl out when I am not there. I am more than happy to pass this on to the new owner, it may be useful as it is something he is used to and saves having to construct something from scratch. Also he knows it and it would help him remember his litter training whilst he gets used to a new home. I am selling Roobly as I was originally looking after him for a friend, who sadly can no longer take him back, and unfortunately my partner has an allergy to his fur. I do not want to sell him to any one inexperienced with animals or who is looking to get a pet on a whim. Ru is an endearing rabbit and deserves a home that is going to be permanent. If anyone would like to ask any questions I am more than happy to answer them. I am also more than happy to allow any one interested to come and meet Roobly before making a decision about taking him on. I'm afraid I will not deliver Ru as I would prefer to meet the new owner before letting them take him, this is purely because I want a good home for him and its important to me that the new owner is committed. Thank you for reading, and I look forward to hearing from you! Sophie
